Project description
Over the course of three years, the partners in the Nordic Digital Health & Education project will develop digital training for doctors, nurses, and other care staff involved in the digital management of patients receiving treatment and care in their own homes.
From 2023 to 2026, the Nordic Digital Health & Education (NorDigHE) project will focus on creating digital education for healthcare professionals involved in the digital management of patients receiving home-based care.

The training is designed to ensure that the staff acquire the necessary digital skills and psychological confidence to provide treatments virtually. A lack of knowledge about digital treatment methods and insufficient digital skills have been internationally identified as the main barriers preventing the widespread adoption of e-health initiatives in clinical practice, despite their extensive documentation.

There is a significant need, both in the hospital sector and among educational organizations, to rapidly and scalably develop clinics' competencies in the digital treatment of patients.

NorDigHE will build on the experiences from Nordsjællands Hospital's Influenzer project and Lund University's management of eChildHealth and ICope. These projects have developed and tested new Hospital-at-Home models in recent years, with particularly promising results.

The project is initiated by a consortium of eight public and private organizations from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, including two hospitals: Nordsjællands Hospital and Sahlgrenska University Hospital; two university colleges: Copenhagen University College and Østfold University College; one university: Lund University; and three companies: Mount Visual, Skillhabit, and Copenhagen Game Lab.

By the end of the project, a digital Hospital-at-Home education program for healthcare professionals will be ready for implementation and rapid scaling in most Scandinavian hospitals and educational programs.
